Robert "Bo" Garrett Named New President, Hunter Wolfe Named Principal of
Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School

Robert “Bo” Garrett has been named President-Elect of Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School, effective July 1, 2024, and will transition into the role of President by October 1, 2024. “Bo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School,” said Brooke Coleman, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Never has it been more critical than now that we provide our scholars with the tools they need to succeed in their studies and graduate. Bo’s focus on ensuring our school provides our scholars with an education which prepares them to continue into a university setting will ensure each student reaches their full potential.”

Mr. Garrett comes to the school with professional educational experience as a former principal, director of student affairs and operations, accreditation chair, and teacher. He holds an undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern College and completed graduate studies at Columbia University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and spent time at the National Geographic Education Foundation in Washington, D.C. responsible for development of curriculum and experiential learning.

I am truly grateful to have this opportunity to partner with the outstanding students, faculty and staff at the school.”

Brooke Coleman also announced that Kenneth “Hunter” Wolfe has been named Principal of the school, effective July 29, 2024. “Hunter’s experience as a former dean of students, assistant principal and teacher place him in a position ready to lead our school following the retirement of our former principal, Dr. Connie Urbanski,” said Ms. Coleman. “He earned his undergraduate degree from Huntingdon College, and two master’s degrees from Auburn University-Montgomery and Samford University.  His former experiences and his educational background are a strong asset to our school. Both Bo and Hunter are familiar with our school and community and we welcome both of them to the school as we start the 2024-2025 school year.”

Ms. Coleman also expressed gratitude for the current Interim President, Steven A. Schultz: “The Board—and I personally—also want to thank Steve Schultz who has served as Interim President at the school for the past 16 months,” said Ms. Coleman.  “His leadership, skill, and ability to bring a team together so that all can perform at the highest level of success is unmatched. We appreciate all he has done for the school.” Mr. Schultz is working closely with Mr. Garrett, Mr. Wolfe, the Board of Directors, and the school’s faculty and staff to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
