Welcome from the Social Worker

Welcome! As the school social worker at Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School, my mission is to provide support to the scholars, families and staff in an effort to alleviate any barriers that would hinder academic and overall achievement for our scholars. It is important that they thrive socially, emotionally, mentally and behaviorally to reach their full potential. The support services I provide target these areas of need. It is also my goal to provide support by linking our families to community resources to ensure all needs of the scholars are met.

Support Services to Scholars

Assess social, emotional, and mental needs
Teach social, emotional, and mental skills through individual and group counseling
Provide crisis intervention
Develop intervention strategies to increase school attendance
Link and refer to community resources

Support Services to Families

Consult with parents to identify barriers and needs of the scholar & family
Provide parents with information and education about how to obtain and maintain social, emotional, and mental health for their scholar
Work with parents to address family stressors that may have a negative impact on the scholar
Assist parents with accessing and utilizing community resources

Support Services to Staff

Participate in assessments and provide consultation about the social, emotional, mental, and behavioral needs of scholars
Provide staff with essential educational information to better understand factors affecting a scholar's academic performance and behavior
Assist teachers with devising behavior management plans
Assist in developing and providing training on social-emotional aspects of academic achievement
